The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) operates several mission-critical federal systems and databases that assist Child Support Agencies and key stakeholders, including federal and private partners. To enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs, OCSS developed an IT Roadmap to migrate its legacy mainframe systems to a modern cloud infrastructure. This migration aimed to leverage emerging technologies, ensure scalability, and optimize system performance while maintaining compliance and security.
Corteq Solutions partnered with OCSS to facilitate a phased cloud migration strategy, transitioning core applications and databases to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our approach focused on enhancing system resilience, securing data, and optimizing cloud resources for cost-effective and scalable operations.
To ensure a seamless transition, Corteq Solutions deployed a multi-tier cloud architecture with:
Transit VPC: Optimizing network performance, minimizing latency, and directing traffic efficiently.
All AWS infrastructure components were replicated across multiple Availability Zones, ensuring continuous operations even in the event of an outage. Applications were hosted within private subnets with controlled ingress and egress, safeguarding OCSS systems from external threats.
To support OCSS’s modernization goals, Corteq Solutions leveraged advanced cloud-native tools and security frameworks:
Cloud Security & Compliance
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
The Corteq Solutions cloud migration framework provided OCSS with significant operational improvements, including:
By integrating cloud-based automation, AI-powered security, and scalable AWS infrastructure, Corteq Solutions successfully modernized OCSS’s IT environment, reducing operational costs, strengthening security, and enhancing service delivery. Our federal cloud solutions empower agencies to transition from legacy systems to modern, resilient cloud architectures with minimal disruption.
Cloud migrations do not fail in the datacenter. They fail in the spreadsheet, when everything is marked lift-and-shift and the hard decisions are deferred to a future that never gets funded. Our migration discipline front-loads the math:
We measure a migration by one question: is the organization more AI-ready at the end than the start? If not, it moved servers, not capability.
A disciplined migration is the difference between cloud spend and cloud advantage. Our modernization work builds the AI-ready foundation first, so every later initiative ships faster.
